A free virtual drum set right in your browser. Hit the drums with your mouse, fingers or keyboard, pick a song groove and play along at any tempo.

How to play the virtual drums

Click or tap a drum or cymbal to hit it. On a touch screen you can use several fingers at once, just like sticks and pedals. Drag the empty space around the kit to walk around it in 3D, and pinch or Ctrl + scroll to zoom.

Prefer the keyboard? Every drum has its own key, and the mapping follows the physical keys, so it works with any keyboard layout.

Frequently asked questions

Is Drums3D free?

Yes. The virtual drum kit and all song beats are free to use in your browser, with no sign-up and nothing to install.

Can I play drums online on my phone?

Yes. The drum set works on phones and tablets: tap the drums with several fingers at once. Turn off silent mode if you hear no sound on an iPhone.

Are these the original drum parts of the songs?

No. Each groove is a simplified rhythm pattern in the style of the song, written for practice. We do not use recordings, lyrics or artwork.

Why do I hear a delay when I hit a drum?

Almost always because of Bluetooth: standard wireless headphones and speakers usually add a delay you can clearly feel when you drum, often well over 100 ms. Use wired headphones or the device speaker.

What is the difference between Synth and Samples?

Synth builds every drum from oscillators and noise, so it loads instantly and needs no download. Samples play recordings of real drums and cymbals (about 0.6 MB, public-domain CC0 recordings from the Versilian Community Sample Library) and sound more natural.
